William Hill locked suspended my account after earning £7,500
Ignored
I’m currently dealing with a serious issue involving William Hill and would really appreciate any advice or similar experiences.
Over the course of a few weeks, I was betting on sports and managed to build my balance up to roughly £7,000. On 21st March, I requested a withdrawal of £4,975. Most of that amount was processed and paid out without any problems, but £756.87 remained stuck in “processing”.
At first, I wasn’t too concerned, as the rest of the withdrawal had gone through and the expected timeframe was 2–3 working days. However, after more than a week passed with no sign of the remaining funds, I contacted support.
Shortly after, I received a call from their team requesting KYC documents. I submitted everything immediately as requested. Not long after that, my account was suddenly suspended, which means I can no longer log in.
At this point, I still have approximately £2,600 locked in the account, along with the £756.87 that was never processed — bringing the total amount withheld to around £3,300.
Since then, communication has been extremely poor. I’ve sent multiple emails and contacted live chat several times, but all I receive are generic responses stating that “the case has been escalated to the relevant team.” No clear updates, no explanations, and no timeframe have been provided.
It’s now 1st May, so it has been well over a month since the original withdrawal request.
I also contacted the UK Gambling Commission, but they advised me to continue dealing directly with the operator, which hasn’t led to any progress so far.
This situation is becoming increasingly stressful, especially given the amount of money involved and the complete lack of transparency.
If anyone has experienced something similar or can suggest the best next steps, I’d really appreciate your input.

I’ve only ever claimed a bonus on my own account, and the funds currently being held are entirely my own — not the operator’s. While the amount is relatively small (around $40), I want to highlight the potential risks associated with William Hill.
Accounts can be suspended with player funds still inside, and under their terms and conditions, they are within their rights to do so. That’s something many players may not fully realise.
My advice would be simple: avoid keeping any balance in your account longer than necessary. In my experience, it’s not something you can consider fully secure.
